Here’s some wig tips you’re going to want to share with your friends

When we put together our poll, we asked you what tips and tricks you wanted to hear about in our first video. The majority of you asked how can we tame the wig itch, and secondly you wanted to hear about our tricks on securing your wig.

We are putting together a fun video that will show you how we do it. I will post the youtube link soon as I am still editing this fabulous video. Who knew how much work that actually is!

Here is a summary of what we will show you:

How to prevent the itchiness you may have experienced with your wig(s)

1. Wig Caps:

They hold your hair in, create a barrier between the wig cap and your scalp and can help to secure the wig. There are many wig caps to choose from. Cotton, hemp or bamboo soft caps are the softest but they can tend to be hot. Some people with scalp sensitivities also turn them inside-out because of the seams.

There are also nylon caps that come in a few different colors. You can snip off the top to fit in bulky hair. They are a tighter fit and if you have a little stubble, it may cause some sensitivities.

And then there is the Fish Net Wig Cap. This cap has an open end and is great if you also want to use pins to secure different hair designs/styles that you styled on your wig.

There is also a liner that can be placed in the area of the wig that is causing discomfort. Headline It also wicks away moisture.

2. Hand-Tied WigsCap

Upgrading to a fully hand tied cap is also an option, though it depends on your budget. There are no wefts to cause friction and most hand-tied wigs are extremely comfortable. Jon Renau carries them in both human hair and synthetic. and their new Lite caps (our personal favorite!)

You can view our favorite hand-tied selections on our website.
